From the Principals

Welcome back to a new school year! I hope you had a restful and enjoyable summer. As we begin this exciting journey together, I want to express how thrilled we are to have your students back on campus. Their energy, curiosity, and potential inspire us every day.

At FSDB, we are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This year, we will continue to focus on high expectations, meaningful learning experiences, and strong partnerships with families.

Please stay connected by regularly checking FSDB communication platforms for important updates, announcements, and opportunities to get involved. Your support plays a vital role in your child’s success, and we look forward to working closely with you throughout the year.

If you have any questions or need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out. Together, we will make this school year one of growth, achievement, and memorable experiences.

Warm regards,

Marcelle Healy
Assistant Principal, FSDB Deaf High School

U.S. Government with Travis Homewood

To build background knowledge and deepen understanding of the origins and purposes of government, law, and political systems (SS.912.CG.1), students worked in pairs to explore various types of governments around the world.

As part of this creative project, each pair designed a classroom presentation using PowerPoint or Canva to showcase their chosen government type. To bring their ideas to life, they also created a gummy bear dioramaillustrating what their government would look like in action—combining civic concepts with hands-on creativity.

We are Hiring!

Did you know that we are on the search for an Instructional Assistant (IA)? This vital role supports teachers in the classroom, helps with instructional activities, provides coverage when needed, and contributes in many other meaningful ways.

If you know a family member or friend who might be interested, please encourage them to apply here.

Help Keep Deaf High School Healthy

As we kick off the school year, we want to remind everyone of the importance of staying healthy—especially a few local high schools are already experiencing early signs of seasonal illnesses.

Please take a moment to remind your student to wash their hands regularly throughout the day, especially before eating and after using shared spaces. Handwashing is one of the simplest and most effective ways to prevent the spread of germs and keep our campus strong and healthy.

Together, we can help protect our students, staff, and families. Thank you for your continued support in promoting wellness at FSDB!
